best thing to do is get a spray bottle and fill with salt water... after you bathe and wash your hair when it is almost dry spray it down and let dry naturally. it will wave up and then once it is completely dry you can *** dome curl activator gel and it will keep for a while if you have thin or hard to style hair. the slat water thing is the easiest cheapest and most efficient. if you have ever gone to the beach and let your hair dry with beach water you get the same effect.

I have naturally curly hair that is really soft. If it has any buildup at all on it, it "gives up" and won't curl. I have a short style that can't be done straight, and I've been using Redkin Curl boost and Alterna sculpting putty on it. Because it's soft it really needs the product to give it lift and definition, but now I'm having to curl a lot of it with an iron because its weighed down from the buildup. I have a relative that owns his own salon and has been in business for years and this is what he recommends and I do it and it really does work and it is not expensive. Take your normal shampoo and mix it with a tablespoon or a little more of baking soda and wash it really good ...this strips all the buildup away ...then rinse and wash it again with just shampoo without the baking soda....condition then style.... It really does get rid of buildup... I hope this helps :)

A good cheap thing to remove build up is to add a little baking soda to your shampoo (any shampoo of your choice) not everyday just when it needs the build up removed. Make sure you do not over use products. For very soft hair I would not recommend a putty of any sort. If you do just have to use it do so very sparingly.

It depends on the straightener...make sure u have one that gets like 450 degrees or hotter. Go buy some heat protector too (got to be) has a good heat protector oil. (spray your hair with it b4 starting, not too much or it will be greasy) Get a clip and clip most of your hair on top of your head and leave a few thin chunks hanging, when the straightener is hot straighten those few chunks and keep pulling hair out of the clip in small chunks. When your done with that put your dryer setting on low cold and it will help set the hair.

You can use the soultions out of a perm, do it as you would if u were getting a perm , BUT with out the perm rods, You use the 1st soultion and comb it through your hair for 20 minutes, Rinse like it says if u were getting a perm , then use the 2nd soultion and do the same comb it through for 20 minutes and rinse - My mom has done it to mine and it's the only thing that lasted - if i use a iron or any straighting product as soon as i get my hair wet it was all curls again - it lasted about 3-6 months on my hair

If ur unsure of how to do it you could call a salon and ask them how much they'd charge you to do it - i'm not sure if they'd charge you the same price as if you were getting a perm or not - and some salons will cut the price if your bring in ur own product - call ahead if ur going to do it that way though and see if any will do it.

Hey, I have the same problem some times. My hair is naturally curly too, and I always use a straightener to straighten my hair. Maybe you should try using a better straightener if its not there yet and maybe use some spray that helps your hair keep straight or a tiny bit of gel. Maybe go over it with a blow dryer, that should help. But, it really depends on what straightener you use. GHD's are AMAZING and CHI's are good too. Hope That Helps!

Make sure that your flat iron is on a high heat, you will want that with curly hair. Always use some sort of heat protector first. Take smaller/thinner section when flat ironing. There are all sort of products on the market now a days for straight hair. I would go all out, buy the shampoo/ conditioner and the the spray that helps to get your hair straight.

oh, also before you flat iron, blow dry as much of the curl out as you can.

1. I have to use a shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair and although my hair is not damaged it gives me the extra moisture that I need

2. I have to put a good amount of anti frizz serum in my hair from rute to tip.

I know its hard to do it, but try it for a couple of days in a row and you will feel such a different and see a difference!!!
